About Me.
Welcome! I’m Marilyn Nimmo, a recent graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where I earned my Master’s in Communication with a concentration in organizational, leadership, and marketing communication. Over the past several years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a course instructor at UNLV, guiding students through public speaking and communication curricula emphasizing confidence-building and applied skill development.
Now, I serve as a visiting lecturer at UNLV’s Lee Business School, where I’ll teach marketing and international business courses that bridge academic theory with real-world practice. Nonetheless, my work is driven by a passion for student-centered learning and a commitment to preparing the next generation of business leaders through engaging, relevant, and practical instruction.
Originally from California, I’ve always thrived in fast-paced, high-performance environments. My academic journey began early through concurrent enrollment during high school, which laid the groundwork for my dedication to lifelong learning. After high school, I relocated to Las Vegas to pursue my undergraduate degree in Communication Studies while competing as a student-athlete on the UNLV Rodeo Team.
Since then, I’ve balanced a rigorous schedule of athletics, academics, and professional work across multiple industries in both part-time and full-time capacities. These diverse experiences have equipped me with the adaptability, leadership, and communication skills to navigate complex organizational settings and effectively mentor others.
In my current role, I remain deeply committed to creating meaningful learning experiences, empowering students, and advancing the broader mission of higher education through purposeful, strategic communication.
